The diagnosis names what’s happening in your child’s brain. It does not hand you a map for what to do at home. Research confirms what most parents already know in their gut: the label brings relief — and then almost immediately, a different kind of uncertainty moves in. The relief of finally knowing gives way to the weight of figuring out what to do next.

That gap is real. And it’s not your fault it exists. Schools are built to assess and report. They are not built — and they don’t have time — to translate what all of that means for your specific child, in your specific home, on a specific hard Tuesday night.
